And more often, anarchists try to use the ACLU as a resource.
With emphasis on *try* as well as on *use.*
Although this is quite different from support, it can be perceived as such, especially when said anarchists are trying to schmooze their way into lawyers' good graces. And it can be a 'slipper slope' into actual support.
