many anarchists support reduced government, government reform, etc, in the idea that doing so will chip away at the power of the state, and/or just make things more fair until we can get rid of the state altogether.

there doesn't seem to be any evidence that this tactic works, but other things haven't worked either, so...

frequently these kinds of anarchists see working with non anarchists as essential to real change, and these kinds of causes are entries into those relationships. and usually these kinds of relationships are more likely to reform anarchist thought than to make significant/long lasting change.

and yes, proposing state policy is statist; although not necessarily with the intention of bolstering the state, it has that effect.
