How would living in an anarchist society impact the advancement in modern science and medicine?

I'm all for anarchy and what not but I also would love to see why new technology the future could yeild.

advancement in modern anything requires massive amounts of energy and extreme specialization both of which would not exist in an anarchist society.

much would need to be done to rekindle forgotten connections to other traditions of medicine and understanding to find ways to 'advance' with out destroying the natural world that sustains us.
